New release of Fuse Creator™

Good news for those existing and potential customers who have been eagerly awaiting the release of Fuse Creator ™ 1.2. We have completed development and testing and the product is now available to purchase from our sales office.

Existing customers will be sent an update free of charge so if it hasn't arrived already it is on its way!

We hope you like the new features and improvements, expecially the new sorting page type - click here for a summary of all the new features we've added.

Through rose-coloured glasses

Schoolzone evaluation of Fuse Creator™

Fuse Creator ™ was recently reviewed by a Schoolzone evaluator over a 6-week period with classes at KS3/4 level and in a variety of curriculum subjects.

The product was very well received and proved easy to use for both the teacher and his pupils alike.

Site updates

You may have noticed a few changes to the website over the last week or so. We’ve taken the opportunity to update the site, adding new features in response to feedback from members.

Perhaps the most significant change is in the Activities section. Brand new activities are now available on the site and the older activities are being updated and refreshed by practicing teachers. Please keep sending your activities in… it’s terrific to see how teachers are using Fuse Creator. Look out also for the new page templates, allowing you to generate your own pages even quicker and easier than before by using our standard layouts.

You can now download activities view the threads on the Forums page without having to sign in… we hope that you enjoy using them. You’ll still need to register and sign in, however, if you want to contribute, e.g. to upload a new activity or post a comment.

A new Support page has been added to the site, providing guidance if you have any technical queries. Alternatively, use the forums to get support from other members of the community.

Expect more changes to the site over the next few weeks, as we continue to add new features and content. Watch out in particular for some exciting announcements via the News page. In the meantime, thanks again to all members of the community for your feedback and support...

BETT update and Teachers TV

It was nice to see so many of you at BETT and it gave us a great opportunity to showcase some of the new features that are currently in development for Fuse Creator 1.2. If any of you have any burning questions since seeing the product at BETT, why not post something on the forum page? We'd be happy to help.

We lost out on a BETT award for Fuse Creator , but we weren't too disappointed as the award went to Lightbox Education anyway in the form of Podium - our podcasting solution which allows students to easily create, edit and publish podcasts all from the same simple interface. Lightbox Education will be demonstrating Fuse Creator and its capabilities at BETT this week. Come and see us at stand E60 to learn more details about the product, try new sample activities and get updates about planned improvements and new features. It would be great to get your feedback.

Fuse Creator has also been shortlisted for a BETT award, in the category Content-Free Tools. The awards ceremony takes place on Thursday night. We'll let you know how we get on later this week.

The BETT show takes place 14-17 January at Olympia in London.

Fuse Player download now available

Fuse Player can be downloaded from this site, and installed freely on as many machines as you wish. See the download link on the 'About Fuse Creator' page.

When a Fuse Creator file (.fc) is launched, if the computer does not have Fuse Creator installed, the file will launch and run in Fuse Player. This means that the best way to share Fuse Creator files with others, is by sending the .fc file.

The exception is schools who use a virtual learning environment, in which case Fuse Creator files can be shares as SCORM packs. Both the SCORM pack and the .fc files are editable in Fuse Creator.

Exciting new content added to the Fuse Creator community website!

Fuse Creator for Windows has now been released. The Mac version will follow very soon.

You can upload your own images, text, or sound files and assemble them into a sequence, using a range of interaction types, including drag and drop, quizzes, linking lines and sequencing. It's easy!
